About this blog

What is this blog about you ask?
All the good stuff is the answer!! Food, baking, eating! Seeing what I come up with!

So this is my main cooking style:

Ok so whats in the fridge, whats in the cupboards??
Ok I'll do a surprise chef and chuck some random ingredients in a fry pan or a pot and see how it turns out!! And don't get me wrong, sometimes that works and I did end up with some masterpieces! Although other times, I would develop a reputation for myself as the random creative cook, such as when I cooked a pea omlette for a friend, which was pretty much fried peas with a little egg through it! So I really enjoy my random food and I have come up with some great recipes, such as my peanut and cheese sandwich supreme which my bro always try to get the credit for! Although my cooking has been great, I am not satisfied with my knowledge in regards to cooking!

So what initially inspired me to start a blog? Apart from the movie 'Julie and Julia', I was given Stephanie Alexander's 'cooking bible': The cooks companion, for chrissy from my awesome bro and sister in law (to be); and decided to start a blog as I attempt to cook as many recipe's from her book as I can! Why this book you ask?
Well, it is full of basic recipe's..If I can master these I will learn the basics of cooking! such as crumble, stew, soups, casseroles, cakes. etc. Basically I wanna learn more and wanna be a better cook/baker!!

This is a blog about food, life, cooking through the seasons, learning more and loving it!!
So if you have a copy of Stephanie Alexander's cookbook join me and learn the basics, and maybe some fancy stuff too!! Don't be surprised if I throw in some original creations and recipes from other cookbooks. There is sooooo much to learn!

Just a side note: I will NOT be cooking through the entire cookbook, not because its close to 1000 recipes, but because i refuse to cook any of the recipes from the rabbit chapter as my lovely rabbit just recently dies (RIP Cuddles) and the thought of eating him is just.......not even a thought!
